Following the completion of my BSW program, I will be working as a full-time Youth Specialist at CCC. My goal is to return to school and ultimately pursue my passion for research psychology in areas of neurodiversity and developmental studies, with a focus on Autism Spectrum Disorder. It is my dream, as an autistic adult, to do research in these areas in order to develop accurate developmental analysis to inform the creation of therapeutic approaches for autistic people. My research and personal ASD diagnosis will provide a much-needed level of validity that has been historically lacking in this area of research. I identify strongly with the NASW value of respecting the dignity and worth of the individual and advocating for social justice and change. I chose social work because I felt drawn to serve those who have been continually let down by our broken system. I hope to work with all populations through my direct practice and research. I have a special interest in children and developmental psychology.
