As a Restorative Justice Practioner, I'm deeply committed to fostering proactive and responsive restorative practices within educational settings. In my current role, I serve as a Restorative Justice Facilitator at Elmhurst United Middle School in East Oakland where, I bring a nuanced perspective to my work with students and families, informed by experiences spanning diverse communities from the Southeast to the Bay Area.Throughout my career, I've spearheaded transformative initiatives, including reimagining Peer Restorative Justice Programs for youth and implementing innovative strategies like Restorative Request Forms, allowing students, teachers and staff the ability to proactive request restorative support. My leadership as the manager of the Restorative Team at a Title One public middle school in Athens, Georgia, underscores my ability to drive systemic change, overseeing the whole school implementation of Restorative Practices for three years. Having facilitated over 600 restorative interventions and equipped educators with effective implementation strategies, I'm dedicated to empowering youth through socioemotional learning, and conflict resolution skill building. Previously, as Programs Manager of Restorative Practices at the Georgia Conflict Center, I managed nonprofit contracts, regularly created and facilitated training for educators, and co-managed the Restorative Justice Diversion Program with the District Attorney's office.My academic background, including a Master’s in Nonprofit Leadership and Management from the University of Georgia and a BSFCS in Human Development and Family Science, informs my passion for addressing racial injustices within the U.S. criminal justice system, particularly the School-to-Prison Pipeline. I believe in the transformative potential of restorative justice to create pathways to peace and justice, and I'm committed to advocating for equity and racial justice in every facet of my professional endeavors.
