About Mariah Western (Phd, Bcba-D, Lba)
I enjoy learning, figuring out how things work (and how to improve them), and solving problems, which is probably why I’m a behavior analyst!I earned my PhD in psychology with a specialization in behavior analysis. My dissertation applied organizational behavior management to instructional coaching in education. I examined a tool (the PDC-HS) that when self-completed by teachers, was effective in guiding coaching that resulted in improved classroom management. My dissertation successfully demonstrated that instructional coaching and organizational behavior management could be used together! Before that, I earned my master's at Arizona State University and am a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). I apply my knowledge of human behavior to a network of public schools with over 25,000 students. I am passionate about social and emotional learning for adults and students and believe SEL skills are foundational. I am interested in school improvement, leadership, professional learning, SEL, and organizational/systemic change research.
Listed skills include Microscopy, Laboratory, Event Planning, Research, and 18 others.
