I have a passion for guiding young people towards academic success and career prosperity. With my desire to become a legal advocate, I've participated in research internships and a legal fellowship where I read, annotated, and briefed U.S. Supreme Court cases. When it comes to assisting young students, I serve as the Internal Vice President of the Afrikan Peoples' Union, whose mission is to foster solidarity among the Black community on and off campus. We heavily prioritize cultural awareness, community, advocacy, and education. I lead the education committee. In APU, we advocate for the best interests of the Black student body, both on and off campus, and will provide opportunities for leadership and empowerment.I am a member of UNL's Mock Trial Team, where I acted as an opening attorney, closing attorney, expert witness, and character witness. I've researched topics on forensic science and meteorology to properly fulfill these roles. This year, I've won a performance award at each competition we've had so far. Those awards include Outstanding Attorney, Outstanding Witness, and All-Regional Witness. I've previously worked as a public policy scholar, where I researched the importance of implementing AP/Dual Credit classes within underfunded school districts. My primary focus was Lincoln Public Schools and Omaha Public Schools. I later intend to extend that research to District 189 in Southern Illinois.I truly enjoy topics related to education, legal advocacy, and youth development.
