My role is to help students learn, review and/or practice various language skills (mostly listening, speaking, grammar and vocabulary). My learners are mostly based in Italy, France, Spain and Germany, but there are also learners from Japan, China, Brazil, Russia, and Poland.The topics we cover are usually job-related (medicine, law, accounting and HR, among others) but we do include other topics, as well. Proactive and timely corrections are a must.Speaking of my skills as a trainer, T&D courses are often provided by the company.I often use Italian as a back up, since many learners from Italy can't speak English very well. This gives me a great opportunity to use Italian on a daily basis.

The main tasks were selection of proper resources, checking the learner's preferences (e.g. reviewing the simple past tense), assessing the learner's level and setting goals and teaching styles accordingly, and providing feedback.Working at this company helped me understand Japanese culture better, and boost my cultural awareness in general.

Translating and proofreading diverse texts (mostly technical papers).

It was a unique experience. The job required lots of enthusiasm, positive energy, imagination and readiness to adapt. Namely, there were times when I had the lesson all well-planned in advance, however the kids weren't in the mood for some of the activities planned, so I had to turn to alternatives ad hoc (I didn't have a plan B sometimes).Teaching 5-year-olds was nothing but fun, commitment and dynamism. There was no better reward than when they started using new words spontaneously and naturally.
