Student placement facilitated by University of Toronto. MScOT student working in the in-patient Geriatric Medicine Rehabilitation Unit and LEAP project. This role consisted of clinical assessments, treatment and discharge planning for geriatric patients on the geriatric and complex medical rehab unit. The LEAP portion of this placement included an environmental scan of community specialized geriatric services across the city of Toronto including development of project plan, timelines, report and presentation of findings.

Student placement facilitated by University of Toronto. MScOT student working in the in-patient neurological care unit, focusing on acquired brain injuries at Hennick Bridgepoint Hospital. Patient population is primarily persons with acquired brain injuries; however, other populations include persons diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's Disease aswell as spinal surgeries. Unit is compromised of an inter-professional team where I had the opportunity to discuss and collaborate with health care team and families to facilitate patient care. Area of occupational therapy focused on cognitive rehabilitation, as well as upper extremity motor recovery, activities of daily living (ADL) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADL) training and discharge planning.

Undergraduate student researcher working with Dr. Judith Bernhard and Director of Early Intervention Services at the George Hull Centre for Children and Families. Research focused on the correlation between premature birth and Autism Spectrum Disorder.

I was responsible for facilitating parent-child interactions during education sessions to promote positive learning experiences for children and their families.
