Maria co-founded Southern Energy Management with her husband in 2001. Since then, she has helped pioneer the residential energy efficiency and solar industries in North Carolina and beyond. Being deeply committed to sustainable business practices, Maria believes businesses have the greatest power to drive positive change. In 2009, she led SEM to become a Certified B Corporation, one of the first 250 companies in the world to commit to measure their impact in using business to solve social and environmental challenges. After a couple of years of implementing the EOS system at SEM, Maria was so inspired by the amazing work her team was doing that she decided to train professionally as an implementer in 2016 - wanting to help other entrepreneurs achieve the same kind of results. Next, Maria was sought to extend her toolbox by joining the Pinnacle Business Guides group and by becoming a certified Kolbe consultant. Today she draws on these diverse experiences to create custom solutions for each client to help them build truly prosperous companies.
