Hi, I'm Mariam( she/her). Before joining university I had worked in a retail management that introduced me to the accounting world, at that time I was fresh from high school and had no knowledge that surrounded accounting .Associating myself with professionals ,it gave me an insight on what accounting entailed. When time came for me to enroll to university I was certain on undertaking my Bachelor in Business Management which I majored in accounting and currently graduated from the said course . I cant wait to join the workforce and put my dreams into practice and also be an aid to either the private or public sector in ensuring better business decisions by providing them with financial information and making its owners have an understanding on the meaning of financial information.So far so good I have undertaken two internship, at East African Portland PLC I was able to gain knowledge on Credit control. Credit control has equipped me with good problem solving skills, excellent communication skills and teamwork. In my current internship it has me exploring on roles of an assistant accountant, this role has broaden my knowledge on accounts and has given me an urge to want to explore more options relating to accounts.In my spare time, I manage a voluntary Community Base Organization called Share a Smile, which aims to help the society by undertaking social projects such as creating awareness on menstrual issues and distribution of pads, volunteering to environmental clean up activities, renovation of classes and feeding of orphans.
