The program is a partnership between The Kresge Foundation, Michigan Community Resources and Co.act Detroit.KIP:D+ funds projects in Detroit, Hamtramck, and Highland Park neighborhoods that support the vision and creativity of residents. We support inclusive, collaborative processes that authentically engage community members in planning, design and implementation. KIP:D+ seeks:Organizations based in Detroit, Hamtramck or Highland Park serving residents and neighborhoods of those cities,Projects that will strengthen neighborhoods and improve the quality of residents’ lives,Projects that advance neighborhood priorities and reflect the culture, history and demographics of residents served, andVisions shaped by community members through inclusive, collaborative processes.In addition to funding for Pre-Planning, Planning, Planning + Implementation, or Implementation projects, KIP:D+ grantees also get:1-on-1 technical assistance and support from Michigan Community Resources,The opportunity to be a part of a unique group of KIP:D+ grantees who learn from and share with one another.

Welcome Mariam to the AAWBC team, she is joining as the Funding Development Chair. In her role, Mariam, will create strategic plans to organize large-scale fundraising initiatives, working with board members, managing our annual fund and building relationships with donors, staff and volunteers.

Researched and authored a new prelitigation program which secured $40,000 in new grant funding, contributing to a total of $1 million in city, state and federal grants. Created and implemented communication strategic plans, including monthly email newsletter targeting an organic email list of 21,000 clients, funders and stakeholders. Established and strengthened partnerships with foundations, donors, and corporations, focusing on housing as a social determinant of health.Developed and implemented a new impact measurement framework that improved program evaluation and reporting capabilities.Managed grant cycles utilizing tools such as LGL, CC, and SA, ensuring efficient program execution.

Mariam is our current Director of Student Affairs for NutriWayne. At this time she is earning her Bachelors of Arts in Nutrition and Food Science. Future Plans: Taking over the world...just kidding. Bringing a simple and easy to understand method of nutrition education and consulting to our community. "I believe proper nutrition is a balance of education and application. Working within the community in establishing an annual multi-cultural event benefiting the John Dingell VA medical center. 1. Develop, maintain and monitor all fundraising and accounting systems and procedures capturing all pledges, billings and receipts and for the recording of all revenue transactions, recommend and implement improvements to systems.2. Prepare annual audit and be a liaison with all outside vendor.
