My Experience:First assignment, the Romada Mall in Homs, Syria. Assigned to propose designs for the furniture within the mall. I was assigned to make plans, elevations and sections for each item designed. - Added descriptive detail such as sections and joint details, the rule of thumb for drawing dimension lines as well as short descriptive details of each furniture pieceI was later assigned another task which consisted in space planning for an office: - Requirements given (Fit everything into 150-20 sq. m)- Different layouts, bubble diagrams & schematic drawings were made including matrix diagrams - Researched sq. m for each area/space and calculated total sq. meterMy last assignment that was given to me was to design shelving units and decorative elements for the interior walls of Mohammad Bin Zayed mosque. Research included local building codes and regulations with regards to mosques and brainstormed for design ideas for interior shelving. During my experience at PRP-AI, sustainability was discussed and introduced to the topic of BOQ’s (Bill of Quantities).Learning Outcomes:- Developed interpersonal communication skills.- Accomplished tasks with limited resources.- Ability to communicate more freely with others.- Developed both technical and conceptual skills through the tasks given - To adapt to the work environment and follow the moral conduct as established in the company - Learned the various standards used at PRP- Ai such as the layers, dimension line styles, title block with full information for the drawings, and labels describing the details of the furniture in the way of its construction, joints, and materials. - Attending meetings with co-workers to discuss projects being handled and to evaluate tasks being done - Putting together a formal, professional presentation for clients and for contractors Show less
