In recent times, I had been promoted as Head for Support and Reliability for Ground Probe. This position continues to be a global position, bringing all the previous responsibilities of the Senior Support and Reliability Engineer, in combination with being responsible for the Hardware Engineering department.The Engineering team is the high excellence level team responsible for the design, prototyping, testing, drawing, fabrication procedure, documentation, and release of the new products, as well as, continue all improvement, reviews, and redesigns, all in terms of Hardware.The Engineering team has a Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Manager, that directly reports to me, and 8 engineers and technician that report to him.As a Senior Support and Reliability Engineer, I was responsible for the availability and reliability of the whole fleet, been responsible for more than 560 systems, distributed between 7 different products, 4 continents, in more than 30 countries.For the management of the system, we used global performance KPIs, during my management we were able to increase the MTBF by 17%, reaching for the first time and exceeding the 10,000 hrs; increase availability by 9% and reduce 10% of the cost of care per system.

As a Reliability Engineer, my goal is to increase Plant OEE and equipment life with the increase of the equipment availability and performance, leverage by continues analysis of the downtime data, reviewing and updating maintenance plans.The continuous downtime analysis, by process line and product in the short and medium and long interval have given the team the necessary focus, identifying the critical areas and equipment to address the major downtime factors. Also, I developed a criticality assessment process, based on safety, quality, cost, maintenance and reliability, to be used for equipment, lines and work order. I am also responsible for the medium and long term reliability framework, continuous improvement, equipment modifications, maintenance plans review, spare parts stock optimisation, reverse engineering and other associated tasks.I am proud of the results. Since I started, the plant’s OEE has increased overall 4% points and the equipment availability has raised on 9.5% points. All thanks to data analysis, using FMECA methodology, Gemba and data from the latest Electronic OEE analysis software. • Developed the reliability criticality matrix for the site, to be used for equipment, lines, processes and work order on CMMS, to identify critical element. This information has been used for PM reviews, strategic stocks levels and optimise labour utilisation. • Leader of several session of Root Cause Analyisis RCA and RCPS. Sound knowledge on the latest trends of problem solving techniques as Gemba, 5W2H and 5Whys. • Leader of several change control and improvement project all across the lines. • Responsible for reliability KPI generation and control. • Responsible to generate daily and weekly reports and Monthly report is presented to the Managers team including results, next steps and medium and long term reliability actions.
