I left a very depressed Scotland to find a booming Milan, a land of opportunity. I therefore decided to stay, improve my Italian and try to make it here. I then got involved in language training for companies. MY ADVANCE INTO THE WORLD OF BUSINESS LANGUAGE TRAININGIn 1986 I became the in house language trainer and interpreter for a large German multinational. This was a great opportunity; not only was I able to grow professionally, I was encouraged by the MD to go out on my own and open my own business. THE START AND THE GROWTH OF CALEDONIANI founded Caledonian on 26 February 1991 and gave it the name of my native land in Latin, together with the Thistle as its logo, the symbol of Scotland.Caledonian has grown throughout the years, overcoming the hugest of hurdles, from 9/11 to the Banking Crisis and now COVID.Our first office was just my spare room at home until we opened a small office in 1994 and then our current premises in 1998, expanding our services to include any language and forever looking out for innovation. We were one of the first companies in Milan to offer Blended platform language training in 2010, a solution which has sustained us throughout the COVID situation.
