Serve as an instructional leader, critical thought partner, informed observer & subject matter resource for teachers of math throughout the district. Collaborate with K-8 teachers & administrators to improve math instruction & learning for district students via professional development, strategic guidance & ongoing evaluation. Work in tandem with district administrators to advance curricular, assessment, instructional & professional learning programming across all areas of math education.* Partner with principals & other administrators to create & implement the district mathematics plan and content curriculum based on Common Core State Standards of Mathematics (CCSSM).* Assist teachers to implement math instructional practices encompassing guided instruction/modeling, independent practice & online study resources across all math domains.* Manage district funding for math programs & resources, evaluate & approve classroom/teacher materials, texts & other resources, & oversee proper districtwide implementation.* Analyze data from IAR (including evidence statements), I-Ready & NWEA MAP to evaluate each school’s math performance; create district-wide CCSSM-based grade level math assessments.* Provide math teachers with robust & current training in content, pedagogy & instructional strategies; prepare & lead workshops in topics such as:- Diving into IAR Evidence Statements- Math Curriculum Map Implementation- Fraction Make It-Take It- Integration Learning Stations w/Differentiation- What is Number Talk?- Using Math MATS for Problem Solving- Tier 2 Math Interventions- Grade-Level Math Standards* Partner with the special education director in proper math resource implementation & provide guidance in the requirements & resources for math intervention.* Support teachers in diagnosing individual student math weaknesses & facilitating coherent & rich preparation for student advancement.* Participate in grade-level Professional Learning Community meetings.

Fill in for school principals for up to a week at a time at Whittier Elementary School and Angelou Elementary School (as many as 250 students) during regular principal absences. Provide leadership and direction to ~15 teachers at a time, along with lunch room staff, social workers, librarians and custodians. Scope of responsibility includes instructional leadership, curriculum administration, parent and community relations, academic interventions, student discipline and safety, and execution of the school improvement plan.* Supervise teachers with job performance expectations; oversee lunchroom and office staff.* Structure activities for effective learning; lead meetings and lay out plans for daily activities.
