Program initially started as Cedar Point ESL and became part of Refugee Hope Partners in 2019Volunteer From June 2015 to January 2022Paid Staff From January 2022 to January 2023- Led the development of an ESL program as part of a non-profit organization serving between 25 and 70 students per semester - Recruited a team of 10 to18 volunteers and teachers per semester - Researched curriculum resources and taught/facilitated training classes to prepare volunteers to teach and further develop their skills.- Established a volunteer community to foster personal encouragement, skill development, and spiritual growth - Developed a student assessment program as well as compiling a beginner to advanced curriculum guide to provide teacher resources and ensure student development- Established long-term relationships with refugee families that opened opportunities to walk with them through such things as navigating local social systems, honing financial management skills, and successfully gaining admission to college- Demonstrated a genuine care and love for refugees resulting in becoming a trusted confidant in whom they sought counsel for personal and family trauma- Formed and led a community event that allowed refugee women and children to enjoy social interaction while making a handcraft and hearing a gospel story in their own language with the goal of fostering stronger relationships between the local church and the refugee community

- Wrote lesson plans and learning rubrics for five children resulting in two students receiving full tuition and two receiving partial academic scholarships and graduating with honors; all five have completed their undergraduate degrees with one completing a master’s degree; two others are currently pursuing graduate degrees- Served as board member of a home school co-op for six years; responsible for developing curriculum, scheduling events, vetting family membership, and often providing family counseling- Taught home school co-op classes to various learning levels
