Ensured a healthy and safe work environment for over 800 employees in multiple locations and was an active member of the Joint Health & Safety Committee. I was the primary contact for the Ministry of Labour and ensured all Ministry issued orders were resolved in a timely and cost-effective manner with minimal disruptions to production. Responsible for the administration and interpretation of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and work with the union representatives to resolve employee complaints and grievances. Was the chief spokesperson for contract negotiations with the CAW; negotiations were settled on time and within budget parameters.Ensure employee's personal and professional goals were aligned with the goals of the corporation and, in turn, ensure that performance is fairly and equitably rewarded based on the administration of the performance management process.Responsible for encouraging and promoting communication with the hourly workforce through various media including the development of a company newsletter, regular townhall meetings, lunch and learn events.Actively pursued continuous improvement within the organization through the use of lean principles to ensure annual operating objectives were met and/or exceeded.I found my primary role in this company was to motivate employees to be their best and to maintain morale, liaise with all levels of employees and make them understand that they are all valued partners in the business.
