After I completed my B.Ed studies at CPUT in Wellington, I accepted a Grade 5 position at Disa Primary School in Imizamo Yethu in Hout Bay. It was quite a learning curve as we started the grade from scratch. I worked myself up into being the first Grade Head for Grade 7 and also became part of the School Management Team as the Department Head for content subjects. I thoroughly enjoyed the seven years I taught at this school, but also felt like I wanted to broaden my experience. I applied for a Grade 7 Mathematics and Natural Sciences position at Curro Century City Primary school and stepped into a Subject Head position. During this time I gained a lot of experience in working with students from all kinds of backgrounds and areas. It was at the end of 2021 that I wanted to start working from home due to health reasons. I now am very proud to say that I have had the privilege to work for Valenture Institute as a learning designer for the UCT Online High School. As of 4 April 2022, I have stepped into a Year 8 & 9 Science learning designer position for the new vertical of Valenture Institute. I am always up for a new challenge and thrive in circumstances where I can enrich my own knowledge and be able to work in a team that shares the same passion for education that I have.
