Marie Skłodowska-Curie Early Stage Researcher
Working within the PROVISION ITN EU project. The goal of the project is to develop perceptually optimized video compression and to produce a new generation of video compression scientists. There is a close collaboration among several leading video compression research groups.Research outputs until now include:– Review of video synthesis methods– Evaluation of optical-flow for interpolation of video frames– Development of a new video dataset composed of homogeneous dynamic and static textures.– Extraction and analysis of HEVC coding statistics (presented in PCS 2016 conference paper)– Development of an adaptive resolution framework integrated with HEVC (publication at ICIP 2017).– Exploration of deep learning techniques for super-resolution and denoising of compressed video content (Video Compression Technology Grand Challenge at ICIP 2017).The project provides frequent meetings, public presentations and training activities.
