Junior Geotechnical Engineer, Eit
Current• Conduct geotechnical field investigations for various commercial, industrial, municipal, and multi-family residential building developments.• Monitor and log test boring explorations including visual identification and classification of soil and rock materials, and preparation of boring logs using multiple logging software programs.• Manage piezometer well installation and monitoring, and concrete cast-in-place (CIP) pile and steel screw pile installation monitoring.• Preform WorkSafe BC trench reviews for the city, describing soil conditions, trench dimensions, equipment used and providing recommendations.• Analyze data and prepare recommendations and reports for projects relating to shallow and deep foundation design, road structure design, earthworks, etc.• Supervise proof rolls and perform subgrade reviews.• Prepare geotechnical project proposals.• Develop and manage professional relationships with clients and field personnel.• Review materials testing reports and work with technicians/technologists on site.• Read and understand construction drawings for conformance to geotechnical recommendations.• Actively contribute to engineering discussions, attend training workshops, and work with Metro’s team of engineers • Trouble shooting real time problems in the field.
