Working alongside the Marketing Manager and the Sales director at the Sheraton Porto Hotel & Spa has provided me with valuable interpersonal skills. The tasks i engaged with during my sales and marketing internship include:- Contacting innactive or smaller clients in order to understand why they were not requesting as many overnight stays so that this situation can be reverted and make sure the prices they had were up do date.- Learning how to use the hospitality computer software "Opera" that assists all of the operational activities within any hotel or events venue.- Learning how to choose the best partners to provide tourist activities for the guests, how and what conditions to negotiate. - Understanding the hospitality industry, how the market is changing and how the hotel has to cater for that change.- Keeping an eye on the competition through regular visits to local hotels, reseraching their events and the reasons for their outcomes comparatively.-Aiding with the preparartion of sales contracts with both travel agents and corporations for the coming year- Learning how to deal with the media in maintaining the reputation of the hotels's facilities and gourmet restaurant.- I shadowed the shooting of the hotel's promotional video and fotography.- Updating the social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram ith fotos and the promotion of current events.
