Made in Corby is an exciting and ambitious three year programme that recognises and draws inspiration from the identity and reputation of Corby as a making place. The aim is to ensure that more local people than ever before will see, experience, create and take part in high quality arts activities on every estate and in every village of the Borough of Corby. All decisions will be made through real and genuine partnership between Corby’s communities, artists, and arts and voluntary organisations. All activities will be ambitious, bringing the best local, national and international artists to make work with, for and in Corby’s communities. All activities will invest in Corby, its people and its skills – making Corby, and all its communities, stronger, more creative and more confident. Made in Corby’s aim is to inspire more local Corby people than ever before to take the lead in experiencing, creating and taking part in high quality arts and cultural activities. Working collaboratively with other Love Corby member businesses since 2015 to increase the visibility of Corby as a great place to live, work and visit.

Managing caseload of young people who are vulnerable to becoming ‘Not in Employment, Education or Training’. The majority had intensive needs i.e. in foster care, young parent, health problems, exclusion, behaviourally challenging, truanting or Special Educational Needs. Working with them, their parents and other professionals on an ongoing basis to enable successful transitions to future employment, education or training.

Supporting young people in influencing the design and delivery of services that they will use. Supporting the creation, promotion and delivery of youth led voice projects. Developing and delivering training in Citizenship, Democracy, Recruitment and Selection to young people and professionals. Supporting the Members of Youth Parliament to run surgeries, attend public engagements and run campaigns about issues that affect young people. Training and supporting the local Youth Forum to run their own group, take on roles and allocate £96K Money For Youth fund. Partnership work with schools, statutory and voluntary sector organisations. Co-ordinating Young Leaders Initiative and elections.

Collaboratively developing Artist led Social Enterprise. Organising Artist network events, signposting to information/resources and establishing an Artist resource pack. Won ‘Creative Spirit of Corby’ Award.

Recruiting new dealers, organising open days and dealer training days. Liaising with web developers for creation of new website. Maintaining the existing website (including an ecommerce facility), building web presence and creating resources for the ‘dealernet’ intranet. Selling, demonstrating and fitting health and safety products to the public at trade shows. Developing relationships with new B2B and industry clients. Developing new policies and procedures. Assisting with the development of a dealer contract/manual.

Responsible for setting up procedures to recruit and retain 100 volunteers each year to mentor children with behavioural difficulties. Monitoring and evaluating the recruitment process for funders. Organising training and public displays/recruitment events. Maintaining and developing the website and email mailing list, producing the quarterly newsletter and assisting the CEO with campaign and PR work. Key part of creative steering team for award winning ‘You got any better ideas?’ campaign and fundraising events.

Commissioning Artists to work with children aged 5-11 years old with behavioural difficulties for photography, video, film and website workshops. Co-ordinating exhibition, catalogue and press coverage of celebration event. A video created through this project was subsequently used for mentor training sessions and general publicity.
