AvoRoots is a cosmetic brand created with the purpose of exploiting all the benefits and properties of avocado through the combination of R&D and e-commerce which will allow us to bring innovative and effective products to the market.

- Co-founded Avo Roots, a finalist startup among other 51 projects during the "Startup Lab". Avo Roots aimed to give avocado a second life by utilizing the whole fruit in order to develop natural cosmetic products

- Developed a full project for a new processed avocado product with the objective to expand the business and enter into the processed food industry: market research, business plan, financial feasibility, formulations and laboratory prototypes- Led a 2-week trip in USA and Canada, visiting 8 clients in order to strengthen and improve the business relationship

- Led, conducted and executed new product development projects through theoretical formulations, laboratory prototypes and plant trials according to the strategic plan based on each client/region needs- Actively participated in marketing research sessions for 4 different snack brands in order to apply consumer insights and translate them into new food products- Tracked report continuity of projects through weekly sessions with the extended team (marketing, operations, finance, sales)- Successfully launched the 2016 Annual Operating Plan (AOP) brand new portfolio of healthy snacks on time and quality accomplishing being the #1 brand within the healthy snacks in Mexico

As an R&D assistant at Sigma Alimentos, my main responsibilities included:- Conducting laboratory testing and analysis for the pilot of new products and improvements.- Keeping accurate records of all test results.- Organizing, labeling and tracking every test sample developed.- Assisting Senior Food Engineers in the development of new products at pilot plant.
