Marian Casey is an active cello/bass instructor who draws on her pedagogical training in Suzuki and traditional methods, combined with her own personal background as a student/performer/teacher, to individualize each student’s instruction based on their unique learning styles, strengths, weaknesses, and current musical performance needs. All of her students, from Suzuki beginners through adult performers, will develop their technique and musical skills through a focus on solo repertoire. Students with other musical outlets and ambitions will also have their ensemble music and audition materials incorporated into the learning experience. All students will be offered performance opportunities through formal recitals and informal outlets. Versatile freelance musician providing live music for special events such as weddings, funerals, banquets, and festival worship services. Performing as soloist on cello, trumpet, harp, musical saw, and soprano vocalist. Also offering small ensembles such as string trio/quartet, brass quartet/quintet, harp with violin, or harp with hammered dulcimer.Composer and arranger providing new music and custom transcriptions for church choir, brass choir/brass band, and irregular instrumentations such as ad hoc church ensembles or employee bands).Particular expertise in classical, sacred, Renaissance, and Scandinavian music (including singing in Norwegian, Icelandic, Swedish or Finnish).

* Teaching individual lessons in cello, double bass (classical and jazz) and electric bass guitar.* Coordinating the USF Chamber Strings ensemble, a small conductorless string orchestra in the model of Orpheus Chamber Orchestra.* Coaching the student chamber music ensembles, currently consisting of a string quartet and a piano trio.* Cellist in the faculty USF Piano Trio.

Associate principal bass in regional professional orchestra, playing approximately 15-17 concert series each year, including both full orchestra (70-90 piece) and chamber orchestra (25-35 piece) performances, plus runouts and touring.

Software Development: Designed, developed, tested and documented new features for Windchill and PDMLink web-based software applications, primarily using Java (incl. applets and servlets), Javascript, AJAX, HTML, XML, CSS.

Web Developer: Prototyping and implementing user interfaces and customizations for web-based e-commerce and procurement applications.

Graphic design and layout for online and printed materials, webmaster, event planning and staffing.
