I grew up in West Philadelphia drawing, painting, and sculpting at home and school, and as I matured I expanded my artistry towards making and decorating cakes with buttercream and fondant designs. Though I didn't pursue an academic education in the arts; I maintained my creativity on canvases and cakes throughout my undergraduate and graduate degrees, while teaching mathematics in Philadelphia, English in Shanghai, and other jobs. In the spring of 2015, I decided to participate in the trending phenomenon of mug cakes. But after being frustrated by the process and the resulting 'cakes', I developed and created the KakeMi 90 Second Cake mix and icing recipes. Since that then, I've fallen in love with learning new things, meeting new people, and growing my business.
