My career to date has focused on designing, developing, and delivering high impact, strategic initiatives creating tangible benefits for individuals and communities with a particular focus on arts, young people and well-being.My most significant professional achievement was my ten years as Founder, Chief Executive and Artistic Director of the award-winning charity, Orchestras for All. I was awarded an MBE for my work with OFA in 2020 and remain in an honorary role as Founding Director. In addition to my work with OFA, I am the Co-Director and Co-Founder of Take Note – a sector support initiative that aims to strengthen collaborative working between arts, cross-arts, and non-arts organisations (‘unlikely allies’) to deliver inspiring arts-for social change projects in communities. I also work with several early-stage social change initiatives and grant giving organisations as a consultant, specialising in strategy and business planning, theory of change development, programme design, impact evaluation and fundraising. In 2017-2018 I was a Fellow on The Clore Leadership Programme, a highly selective and competitive leadership development programme offered to leaders across the arts.

Co DirectorTake Note Jan 2020 - PresentI founded Take Note (wetakenote.org) with Emily Webb in 2019 with funding from The Footwork Trust.Take Note is born from our first hand experience of the extraordinary impact and artistic possibility of collaboration as well as the real and significant challenges that arise when working with others. Its subsequent design and development is backed up by extensive research and sector consultation. In 2020 we secured funding from Esmee Fairburn for a full scale project in Gloucester. Additionally, in response to COVID, we have developed flexible, bespoke packages based on Take Note’s tools and experience. These can adapt and respond to organisations’ and networks’ changing needs, and are designed to support organisations and networks with their crisis response, resilience-building and collaborative expertise. -
Founding DirectorOrchestras For All Aug 2020 - PresentI founded Orchestras for All in 2011 to address the lack of affordable, accessible and inclusive orchestral music-making opportunities for young people with complex lives. In nine years of its existence, I have worn many hats:- Chief Executive: Grown the organisation from an idea to one that employs 7 core staff, supports 100's of music teachers across the UK, and has brought 2000 young people together to make music- Fundraiser: Raised over £2m from trusts, foundations, public funders, family offices, community events and individuals- Artistic Director: Delivered nine year-long themed artistic programs. Commissioned 57 innovative and accessible new works and arrangements, many co-created with our young people. Built partnerships with guest artists (Guy Johnston, Sian Edwards, Benjamin Baker) and professional orchestral partners (BBC Philharmonic, City of London Sinfonia).- Strategy: Designed a three part program delivery model, encompassing the National Orchestra for All, Conductors for Change, and the Modulo Programme. Built multiyear strategic plans to drive sustainable growth. -
