I currently work with the Washington National Tax Practice of KPMG LLP where I focus on state and local taxation of passthrough entities. My responsibilities include coordinating and reviewing the tax technical aspects of firm-developed software, drafting and reviewing memoranda and articles that analyze state tax implications of transactions and recent developments, along with designing, developing, and delivering training for state and local tax professionals. I have published numerous articles, including the state and local tax chapters of Taxation of Financial Institutions, published by LexisNexis. A significant amount of my time is spent addressing issues relating to partnerships and alternative investments.I joined the KPMG Washington National Tax SALT practice in 1994. Since then, I have also worked with KPMG’s Tax Business School, coordinating the design and development of federal and state and local tax training, and Risk Management-Tax, the practice within KPMG responsible for developing and implementing risk management procedures. Prior to joining KPMG, I worked with another Big Four Firm and was a writer/editor for Tax Analysts, which publishes Tax Notes and State Tax Notes.I have been an adjunct professor at Georgetown University Law Center (GULC) since 1993 and served as faculty advisor for the State and Local Tax Advisor from 1998 to 2007. In 2013, I received the Silver Vicennial Medal for service to the University.
