About Marianne Loh

My career has been unconventional, but privileged. After starting my career in IBM, through their graduate program, growing into an advisory sales specialist, moving into consulting then finally becoming sales manager, I made the decision to leave the corporate world and follow my passion in sport, sports management and leadership. I realised there, that my experience, could also serve people who are in need of confidence, mentoring, and performance management. I apply critical understanding of the theories, knowledge and skills necessary for managers in commercialised sport to operate effectively in increasingly complex sociocultural environments.During my tenure at IBM, I led a team that focused on strategic and operational aspects of sales, marketing, channels, and business operations, all of which provided a solid foundation and formed the basis of what I use every day at Peak Performance Management. In my role at Peak Performance Management, I provided services to Badminton Australia as the National Sport Development and Participation Manager, where I collaborated with a diverse range of stakeholders to develop and implement strategies and programs to grow participation, membership, and popularity of badminton across Australia. I have also helped inform athletes, on how to tackle real-world issues and cases, by developing strategies and tactics for athletes to grow wholistically, innovate and succeed on and off the field. Contract work with a variety of badminton organisations continue.I then served as the Chief Executive Officer at Waikato Badminton Association, leading the organisation through a challenging global pandemic, and implemented a number of new and innovative strategies, systems, processes, programs and events. These were key contributors to attaining organisational and financial excellence, increased people capability and resourcing capacity, whilst having a better pathway for participants of all ages, all abilities, all times, for life. I am now the Para Sport Community Manager with Paralympics New Zealand.
