About Mariano Focareta

Mariano Focareta received its master degree in Applied Geology at the University Federico II of Naples (Italy) in 1996 and in 2001 completed PhD in Applied and Environmental Geology at the same University. He has currently a permanent position as project manager, remote sensing applications and environmental monitoring expert at MapSat. He has a strong experience in remote sensing product validation, image detection, geological data processing, geomorphological evolution modelling, creation of thematic maps, photo-interpreter of aerial and satellite images in environmental fields (mainly in forestry, land use and land cover). He has, also, great experience in the use of GPS and TPS for monitoring unstable areas and in product validation activities.
