As a PhD candidate I designed, ran and analysed a quasi-experimental longitudinal study on interventions in divorce, as well as an online experiment on the effects of web-based interventions in legal conflicts. I developed an online environment in which conflicts could be simulated in order to test interventions under varying conditions in a controlled experimental setting. I analysed a large data set on legal conflicts. Findings were presented in presentations, professional reports and academic publications.I taught classes, supervised thesis work and supervised four interns. I worked closely with stakeholders from the legal aid field and was invited to present my findings at an international conference on legal aid and digital solutions in Edinburgh.

I was responsible for the organization, running and analysis of user research in focus groups, think aloud studies and interviews. I cooperated in a team to develop web-based legal aid on Rechtwijzer.nl. I worked with the agile/lean method in a multidisciplinary team with partners from commercial companies as well as universities.

Assistant research for Tisco; a research group, which develops and analyses innovative legal aid solutions and legal empowerment projects. Tasks included: designing workshops, conducting interviews and workshops, analysing data, writing reports, and presenting the findings. Fieldwork in Azerbaijan, Mali and three months in Nicaragua.

2007-2008: Chair of the Amnesty Student Group AmsterdamDuring twelve months, responsible for the organization of meetings, financial status of the group, internal and external relationsOrganization of lectures, protests, exhibitions and events including the Amnesty contribution to the annual liberation day festival in Groningen, member of the student groups of Amsterdam, Groningen and Lille, and the regional bureau of south Netherlands, participation in an exchange program with Amnesty Morocco.

Five month stay, writing grant proposals for an NGO working on urbanisation projects, teaching English at a school in an impoverished area as well as in a shelter for young boys placed out of home by the Child Protection Council.
