As Co-Founder and President of Wakami, my job is to create a space where we connect rural communities to national and international markets, to generate income for rural woman in Guatemala and transform cycles of poverty into cycles of prosperity. As Wakami, we design hand made products that meet the needs of our customers in the World, and that can be produced with the skills of the Guatemalan artisans. Our main markets are in Guatemala, Japan, USA and Costa Rica.

Communities of the Earth is an NGO in Guatemala that incubates rural businesses through its inclusive business methodology and partners with local and international corporations to create income for this rural businesses. Once incomes its generate Communities of the Earth has develop the smart investment platform where women with income have access to trainings and products and services that improve their quality of life (nutrition, education and healthy homes). Currently we are working in coffee, regenerative agriculture and hand made products to generate alternative income generating options for rural women and men. This methodology has been applied in World Bank and IDB National Programs in Guatemala and with UNDP in México.
