I was responsible for maintaining a laboratory population of fish and setting up breeding trials, which required following a strict schedule. I gained experience using ImageJ software, by completing the analysis and measurement of egg and fry size. Furthermore, I was able to assist in collecting and processing water samples for cortisol analysis by performing ELISA assays. Lastly, during the experiment, I was updating the project’s database, which gave me knowledge in arranging data for statistical analysis.

I had the opportunity to work with members of the organisation to monitor (ring) the young in barn owl nests. My time management and team skills were developed by spending numerous hours in the field and following a work schedule. At the same time, I collected barn owl pellets to develop my own honours project.
