As a program director at the University of Miami, I lead a four-year college preparation program for youth affected by the foster care system. With over 18 years of experience in the public school system, I have developed a passion for fostering inclusivity, equity, and success for all students, especially those who face challenges and barriers in their academic and personal journeys.I leverage my skills in strategic planning, budget management, curriculum design, program design, staff supervision, case management, and community partnerships to create a supportive and enriching environment for the participants of the First Star University of Miami Academy. I have also also taught courses in instruction and assessment in secondary schools and developmental reading for college students as an adjunct lecturer at the University of Miami. My mission is to use my education and expertise in instructional technology and distance education to enhance the learning outcomes and opportunities for the foster youth and the future educators.
