• Performed a feasibility analysis for McDonald’s to design and implement a showcase “net zero energy” restaurant (Operates at the most efficient level to achieve net zero electricity costs). The final results were presented to McDonald's Energy executives.Actual restaurant was developed by McDonald’s and it opened in July 2020

• Developed a proposal to communicate the environmental benefits of reusing versus recycling cardboard boxes for Rebox Corporation, the largest buyer and reseller of once-used boxes in North America.• Modeled a Life Cycle Assessment using Gabi software to study the environmental impacts (i.e. GHG emissions, water consumption, and energy intensity) of reusing vs. recycling corrugated cardboard boxes.

• Spearheaded the quantitative analysis of a business proposal to integrate electric vehicles into the Indianapolis city fleet, facilitating Mayor Ballard’s executive order.• Led the detailed analysis of a fleet of two thousand city vehicles, and developed data clusters according to operational characteristics. Provided recommendations based on this analysis that are currently helping to facilitate a successful deployment of electric vehicles into the city’s fleet, creating $4 million in savings over an eight year period.• Presented the results directly to Mayor Ballard and other senior executives during several of the Mayor’s strategic meetings, and received an official proclamation issued by the Mayor of Indianapolis as recognition of my work during the summer.• Created and executed the methodology to analyze the market potential of deployment sites for a $35 million investment project, the largest electric car share program in the U.S.• Gathered research regarding new energy projects among ESN partner companies, which include a range of Fortune 500 corporations.

• Managed the maintenance team of the company and supervised all maintenance operations.• Conducted training sessions for the employees and CEOs that led to roughly 20% in production cost savings.• Redesigned the model to minimize the costs of maintenance while taking into account a 45% profit margin.• Supervised the use of new technologies in the construction of the second largest vertical garden in South America. • Developed databases of plants that were suitable to use in green roof and vertical garden projects in Colombia.• Constructed the manual for sustainable practices within the company.

• Designed innovative microfluidic devices for use in the study of antibiotic resistance in biofilms. Acquired and analyzed data using advanced microscopic techniques. Obtained results with great impacts on health issues that led to a scientific publication in PLOS Pathogens.

Determined the effect of agroforestry systems on soil quality in the Amazon region of Colombia. Revealed potential native bacterial strains that could be used as bio-fertilizers in the soil, specifically for nitrogen fixation. Undergraduate thesis was based on this project.
