This implied working with a huge amount of Arabidopsis thaliana mutant and transgenic lines, doing many different experiments, both molecular biology and phenotypic characterization, with the aim to understand the intricate network of pathways involved in the response of plants to this kind of abiotic stress. 🌷My most relevant achievement was consolidate a cross-functional expertise evidenced by carrying out a scientific-technical proposal, data recording and analysis, result communication and collaboration in several projects. In more detail, they were:🔸Design and do 10+ different experiments with critical thinking, organization and focus on reach the stated goals.🔸SOPs optimization and set-up.🔸Detailed analysis of a huge amount of results using distinct imaging and statistical software.🔸Solid written communication skills evidenced by the presentation of 3 peer-reviewed scientific reports, and the publication of 1 first-author paper and 1 review in high impact journals.🔸Collaborate actively in projects of other members of the lab, resulting in the co-authorship of 2 publications in high-impact journals.🔸Mentor one Bsc Thesis student resulting in the publication of 1 scientific paper.🔸Distinguished time-management skill proven by meeting all deadlines.🔸Exceptional oral communication skills by the participation in national and international conferences.🔸Grant 2 fellowships to start and continue with my PhD thesis, based on my merits, achievements and proposals. I have always been interested in plants and how they adapt to the environment, so I decided to join to CEFOBI-CONICET, a very renowned institution. There, I studied a group of soy (Glycine max) proteins, named Metallothioneins (MT), that are involved in metal homeostasis and detoxification, being important targets to study bioremediation.🔬In more detail, I was involved in the study of the role that GmMT3 plays in response to different environmental stress scenarios:✔high heavy metals concentrations in soil✔oxidative stress✔high temperature ✔dryness🎯 To reach these goals, I worked with two model organisms: Arabidopsis thaliana and Saccharomyces cerevisiae, and learnt many different protocols and lab skills:✔Cloning, DNA extraction and manipulation✔Cell culture and transformation✔PCR and RT-qPCR✔Phenotypic characterization of plants and yeast✔Sample collection, processing and evaluation✔Scientific data collection and analysis✔Bibliography search✔Written and oral communication💫These two years of hard work and continuous learning were very important for my subsequent professional development.
