I write feature stories for national and regional publications and design websites from scratch and by using templates.

I'm a motivated front end developer student who believes strongly in the principals of UX design and interactivity. As a former journalist, I'm an excellent communicator, an advocate for open source and open government and I love searching for new and compelling data sets to tell stories with.

I'm in charge of managing the daily content, both in print and the web, for The Colorado Springs Gazette. Job duties include:-Managing a team of reporters and assigning daily stories for print and digital platforms-Optimizing content for the Web using best practices and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) techniques-Making data-driven content and story decisions based on analytics and readership trends. -Editing stories for content and clarity-Managing and creating special web projects-Assisting reporters by using computer assisted reporting techniques and data analysis *This position is the result of several years of experience at The Gazette. In the past, I've also been a database editor and reporter.

Data journalist for the Colorado Springs Gazette, specializing in writing data-driven stories and presenting content and data online. For the Gazette, I was also a multimedia reporter – shooting video, writing stories and constantly updating the website and the paper’s social media outlets.

Assistant city editor and reporter for the Greeley Tribune. Editing duties included: Editing daily copy for grammar and clarity, developing story ideas and coaching reporters. Reporting duties included: Covering breaking news, posting online web updates and writing about specific beats. Through the years I covered several beats including business and education.
