Maria is a freelance Concerts / Orchestral Manager, Artistic Director of the Music Workshop Company and Visiting Lecturer for the Music Department at the University of Hertfordshire. She is also exploring how music can help People with Parkinson's through the Songlines research project and Maria's Musical Movers. She is on the Steering Group of the Hertfordshire Cultural Education Partnership, having been part of the founding team. Alongside her music work, Maria is a Funeral Celebrant with Humanist UK.Maria has over 20 years experience as a Concert Manager & Workshop Leader. She brings together her experience of working with Arts organisations, running her own business & lecturing in Business to her work with musicians, helping them to create innovative projects. Maria's qualifications include BMus(Hons) & MBA.Maria studied at Trinity College of Music (now Trinity Laban) before starting her career at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden in the Orchestra Office. In 2002, she left to set up her own business - the Music Workshop Company - which supplies clients with interactive music workshops tailored to their needs.In 2007, Maria was invited to lecture in Arts Marketing at the University of Hertfordshire Business School, later broadening her teaching to cover other business areas. In 2015, Maria moved to the School of Creative Arts at the University of Hertfordshire and became Programme Leader for the BA(Hons) Music Industry Management. Other roles include Employability & Enterprise Champion and Outreach Champion for the School of Creative Arts.Maria teaches a wide range of subjects including entrepreneurship & strategy. From 2010 - 16 Maria was a Guest Lecturer at IMEA International Business School in Besançon, France. Maria won the Enterprise Educators Award at the National Enterprise Educators Awards 2012 as part of Team Venture from the University of Hertfordshire.
