Since 1985, Boston Community Loan Fund has provided critical help to organizations serving low-income people by providing loan capital and technical expertise. In the past 20 years, the Loan Fund has lent more than $210 million to projects that build healthy communities where low-income people live and work while achieving loan losses of less than one tenth of one percent.

Consultant to governmental, non-profit and for-profit clients, providing financial structuring, program development and feasibility analysis. Clients include CEDAC, MHIC, MHP, POAH, The Broad Institute, WinnDevelopment and ETC Development Corporation.

Successfully negotiated and closed 65 affordable housing transactions in 19 states on behalf of private and not-for-profit owners which preserved the affordability of nearly 8,000 apartments nationwide with an aggregate value of over $225 million. Provided underwriting services and asset management on behalf of mission-oriented lenders. Served as transitional COO and headed numerous practice areas, including Mark to Market restructuring and Lender Services.

Grew exponentially and managed $10M+ budget for the production of supportive housing for the homeless, mentally ill and AIDS-afflicted. Provided financing, development assistance and community process for disposition of city–owned land to create more than 1,000 units of supportive housing. Supervised professional staff. Increased competitive Federal funding. Negotiated structured workouts during economic downturn. Produced guide to SRO development in Boston.

Structured investor participation in Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) developments. Monitored portfolio of privately placed equity for ongoing operations and return to investors. Prepared investor reports.

Administered state-funded program to preserve affordable rental housing. Provided workshops and technical assistance to owners of rent controlled properties. Coordinated mediation and tenant services component of program.
