A native San Antonian, Maria attended Texas Tech University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the Huckabee College of Architecture at Texas Tech University. She continued her education through obtaining a Master of Science in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Maria started her professional career in 2012 at an ENR Top 500 engineering firm within their environmental team working on various public involvement and NEPA related efforts. After over a decade of experience in the engineering industry, her career has evolved into strategic growth efforts.In 2015, she completed the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s Alexander Briseno Leadership Development Program, served on the steering committee, and ultimately had the honor of co-chairing the program in 2021.In 2018, Maria was appointed by Mayor Ron Nirenberg to the Office of Urban Redevelopment San Antonio and served over five years. She also completed her year in Class 43 of Leadership San Antonio. Since then, she has continued to serve Leadership San Antonio in Class 45 and Class 48 as a Steering Committee member.When not spending her time with her husband, Scott, and two young girls, Maria stays active in industry organizations including Urban Land Institute San Antonio and SMPS San Antonio.Empowering Leaders | Executing Strategies | Building Relationships | Amplifying Brands
