Participated in the Department of Homeland Security Summer Research Team (DHS-SRT) Program on a team led by Dr. Dan Tamir and hosted by the University of Illinois's Critical Infrastructure Resilience Institute (CIRI). We partnered with the United States Coast Guard (USCG) and investigated applicability of distributed ledger technology to the missions of the USCG with a focus on supply chain traceability in the seafood industry.

Worked in Dr. Jelena Tesic's Data Lab investigating community and bias detection in signed networks.

Assisted with mathematics courses including business calculus and ordinary differential equations by organizing review sessions three times per week, constructing supplementary materials, holding office hours twice per week, and holding review sessions before tests.

- Tutored undergraduate and graduate students in mathematics, chemistry, biology, and computer science- Attended tutoring conferences and received training related to learning styles, instruction styles, and student support- Earned level 1 College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) tutor certification

- Attended a 10-week program at the University of Wisconsin - Madison designed to prepare undergraduates for a research career in the biological sciences- Assisted with the statistical analysis for a project assessing the relation between cadmium exposure and mammographic density- Attending seminars in biology and biostatistics research and career workshops- Presented a poster and gave a presentation during the IBS-SRP symposiums

- Assisted with a study exploring how students knowledge structures, as related to the scientific method, vary over time- Processed and analyzed student surveys and assisted with interpretation of results- Presented results in a poster format at the 2013 Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) Conference at Texas State University, where the poster placed 3rd in the undergraduate presentation contest- Results were also published in the 2014 NARST conference proceedings

Participated in a 6-week training program for biostatistics at the University of Wisconsin - Madison that included seminars, career workshops, R coding training, and biostatistics training.
