I am a dedicated professional ready to help my team to reach mutual success.My love for accounting stems from the fact that numbers do not lie. A company is either operating with a profit gain or loss. So the universal language of accounting can translate to all kinds of industries and specialties. I’ve worked in cost accounting for aviation, restaurant construction and window cleaning, just to name a few. I’ve prepared financial reports for business owners, department managers and board of directors’ meetings. I’ve analyzed year over year trends for restaurants, lending and bookstore transactions. I’ve implemented a gift card program for 26 restaurants nationwide, established matrices for incentive programs. Assisted and performed financial, operational and payroll audits. All making part of accounting which makes for a never dull day. Challenges abound when opening the possibility of analyzing data, trends and history. It all began with an accounting class in high school and joined a restaurant management program in college. I grew in my management skills at Taco Bell Corporate with various seminars and training sessions. I was persuaded into the mortgage industry by a former manager, where I really expanded my finance skill set with credit settlements, lending transactions and cash management. After the downturn, I entered the aviation sector with cost accounting, inventory management and payroll. Cost accounting with aviation transitioned to construction accounting with budgets, costing and amortizations. And currently, I am in the education sector with a finance position responsible for bookstore inventories, accounts payables accruals and cash reconciliations. Drawing from life’s experiences makes a better accountant, adaptable to the situation, department, sector and experience. Adaptability will broaden the spectrum of experience and create a well rounded accountant.
