Portfolio management | Strategy | Budgeting | Project development | ReportingI was in charge of an Official Development Assistance (ODA) funded busness development and support scheme for Norfund's 700+ investees, i.e. small and medium sized companies, funds and entrepreneurs in developing countries. Annual budget: approx. 20 million NOK. Under my management over 200 million NOK was disbursed towards more than 200 interventions targeting sustainability and future proofing, corporate responsibility, OHES, digitalization, climate change, good governance, capacity building, project development, etc. Including providing training to 10 000 micro entrepreneurs in digital literacy and business practices in Kenya, several rural electrification programs, establishing an investment company in South Sudan, a new microfinance operation in Myanmar, and cooperation with NHO on the Female Future Program in Africa. In 2010 initiated the establishment of a European networking group for technical assistance professionals in the European Developement Finance Institutions, which is still active today.

I was responsible for collecting, analyzing and presenting information about Norfund's developmental impact. Among other things, I refined and strengthened Norfund's annual collection of developmental statistics from its investment portfolio (some 600 companies); was in the steering group of a World Bank (IFC) led international effort to harmonize development indicators for private sector investments by development finance institutions and development banks; made a Development Report to explain Norfund's contributions to development; and held presentations for Norfund's Board of Directors, the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs including the Minister of Development Assistance, and other stakeholders; etc.

The Building Skills for Jobs Programme was a Norwegian official development assistance programme aiming to combine Norwegian private sector and/or education institutions with partners in developing countries in order to provide work-relevant skills and increase the employability of youth in the host countries. The allocation committee assessed qualified applications and determined how to distribute the programme's total budget (approximately 100 million NOK).

I was seconded to the Dutch Development Bank for 3 months as Capacity Development Officer working with FMO's advisory services and technical assistance grant fund to enable its clients to access the skills, knowledge and expertise that they require to improve their performance, sustainability and impact.During the secondment I contributed to several financial proposals and contracts, including a framework agreement for risk management and climate/green product opportunities for financial institutions in Africa.
