Maria VanDeman, NCIDQ, IIDA, is an accomplished workplace advisor, interior designer, sales manager, writer, children’s book author and advocate for equity in the workplace. With nearly 15 years in the commercial design industry, including 7 years as a workplace advisor and sales manager with OFS, Maria's mission has been to support people and the inspiring environments in which they work. Maria previously practiced interior design at international A&D firms in Atlanta and South Florida and holds a bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from Purdue University. A dynamic presenter, speaker, and writer, Maria is dedicated to impacting and inspiring others by cultivating cultures of equity and inclusion, while fostering knowledge and empathy within diverse groups. Her recently published children's book, "Design Your World", serves to raise awareness and inspire diversity in the world of design. Maria leads the DEI committee for OFS and serves on boards and councils for IIDA SFC, Insightful Collaborative and IIDA HQ National Equity Council. In recognition of her dedication to social advocacy and mentorship, she received a HiP Leadership award from Interior Design Magazine in 2022. With a passion for helping people and designing for the human experience, Maria strives to make a positive impact on the world through her work and advocacy.
