Dr. Werner-Wasik is the Enterprise Vice-Chair for Radiation Oncology at Jefferson Health, charged with organizing and supervising delivery of harmonized, integrated, patient-centered, safe and efficient care across all radiation campuses within the health system.Dr. Werner-Wasik is Walter Curran Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology of the Jefferson Medical College, specializing in thoracic and central nervous system malignancies. She is particularly interested in the delicate balance between therapeutic intensification and toxicity management, as well as in PET-based response to radiation therapy in lung cancer.As a Senior Physician Leader of the Clinical Trials Office (CTO) at the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center at Thomas Jefferson University, she oversees operations for cancer clinical trials originating in seven cancer Multidisciplinary Groups. She is the Contact Principal Investigator for the NRG Oncology at Thomas Jefferson University & Hospitals; the NRG Co-Chair for Publications and a member of the RTOG Foundation's Advisory Board. She has been the principal investigator of several clinical trials which help define the standard of care for lung cancer. Dr. Werner-Wasik serves as an Oral Examiner in Lung and Sarcoma for the Radiation Oncology Specialty Board annual examinationShe is a member of the IASLC’s (International Association for Study of Lung Cancer) Advanced Technology Committee, charged with disseminating expertise on the Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT) to the global community of lung radiation oncologists. At Jefferson, she is the senior radiation oncologist treating patients with thoracic malignancies and a lead radiation oncologist in the Thoracic Malignancies Multidisciplinary Group. Between 2009 and now, she was awarded several "Best Doctor" titles (Philadelphia Top Doctor; America's Top Doctors for Cancer; America's Top Doctors, Philadelphia Super Doctors).
