Currently focusing on meetings and conventions taking place in the Greater Miami area and Latin America. I continue my work to bring parity to elected and appointed public office. Focusing on training women who want to run for office. Focus on municipal opportunities in Miami Dade County where there are cities that don't have women elected to their councils. Through my efforts, Miami-Dade County received the Green Local Government Designation from the Florida Green Building Council obtaining the highest score of any other local government in the State. Developed a Green Business Certification Program, an initiative of the County’s sustainability plan “GreenPrint our Design for a Sustainable Future”. Served as the County’s first Water-Use Efficiency Manager, in that capacity I developed the first goal-based water conservation plan in the State. The plan’s implementation has resulted in unprecedented water consumption reduction in Miami-Dade, allowing for the elimination or deferral of costly infrastructure projects and earning national recognition. Before joining the County, I spent 10 years at the South Florida Water Management District working on governmental relations, and outreach planning for major restoration projects including the CERP and the Lower East Coast Water Supply Plan.
