Evaluated how to configure the newly developed Superdex 200 Increase gel filtration columns on the ÄKTA pure chromatography system to achieve the best analytical results. The optimization process deeply expanded theoretical and practical knowledge of chromatography, the ÄKTA systems, and the UNICORN software. Results were later used as a foundation when compiling instruction manuals directed towards customers. Also worked with customer samples, different protein purifications, and performance tests where ÄKTA pure was exposed to organic solvents and high temperature during a longer period.

Participated in Prof. JoAnne Stubbe’s research group for nine weeks. Investigated the Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium strain LT2 class Ib ribonucleotide reductase (nrdHIEF) as well as thioredoxin (trxA) and thioredoxin reductase (trxB). Work included cloning, growth and overexpression, as well as protein purification and activity analysis. Gained a lot of research experience and improved several lab skills.
