Award-winning innovator, communicator and thought leader with more than 20 years of experience in journalism, communication, strategic planning and media relations.I'm currently the Director of Digital Development and Content Strategy for the Burnett School of Medicine’s Office of Strategy and Communication. I'm in charge of internal and external communications and oversee the strategy, maintenance and content of the website, social media and newsletters for the Fort Worth medical school.I lead a team that produces award-winning campaigns including a Facebook Live video series called "FWMD Live," which won Gold at the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) GIA Awards for Excellence in 2021 and was also recognized by the Greater Fort Worth Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) with an Award of Excellence in the 2021 Worthy Awards. In 2022, the weekly digital newsletter that I produce for the medical school won Silver at the 2022 AAMC GIA Awards for Excellence. Previously, I worked at the Fort Worth Star-Telegram where I led the newsroom's strategic efforts on digital publishing, social media, SEO and analytics. I was the Star-Telegram's first social media editor in 2010, and grew audience for the Star-Telegram's social media accounts by nearly 4,000%. I also spearheaded social media campaigns for award-winning series including Titletown, Tx, a video series on Facebook Watch and Amazon Prime, stories on child abuse and a project about acquaintance rape.I launched the Star-Telegram's parenting site Mom2MomDFW.com in 2008. I blogged about family events in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, travel, dining and wrote movie reviews that also appeared on Rotten Tomatoes. In my spare time, I am the Digital Media Chair for the Greater Fort Worth Public Relations Society of America and I served on the local host committee for the 2022 PRSA ICON conference. I will be GFWPRSA’s Treasurer-elect in 2023. I'm also the VP for Communications for the Yale Club of Fort Worth and will be the VP of Events in 2023. I unplug by spending time with my wonderful husband and two fabulous sons.
