Marichen first consulted to SAP via her Leela Leadership Consulting Company and was then head-hunted to work for SAP permanently in June 1999.Key deliverables: Establishment of a Black Empowerment company providing internet business solutions aimed at the Public Sector market.  This business is at the forefront of cutting edge technology for eCommerce with its mySAP.com product and service suite as the driving force. Management of the education and training division, including strategy and business planning. Creating market driven education solutions to drive bottom line. Providing input internationally in the education and training SAP.

This involved the development of strategic relationships with stakeholders in the arena in which the company operated and the briefing of executive team regarding positioning.  Once the programme was completed, I was seconded to Rand Mines for a period of three months to define alternative uses for potentially vacant mines.

 The aim of the foundation was to assist black South African students who had been studying abroad (as well as exiles) to procure employment, either permanently or via internships. Facilitate the promotion, formation and establishment of the foundation. Establish the Board of Trustees that consisted of representatives from the Association of Black Accountants, Black Lawyers Association Social Workers Association, Black Management Forum and Barlow Rand and Industry. Create facilities that served as a contact centre for the SASIF students, Board of Trustees and other interested persons. Procure and provide educational and training programmes for the development of managerial and leadership skills. Secure and build support for the aims and objectives of the foundation amongst leaders of the socio-economic community in South Africa and abroad. Representing SASIF abroad, specifically the USA and Canada. During this period of time I served on both the Barlow Rand Group Education Forum and the Management Development Forum.
