'Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day', IGEday, is an annual event organized by the Womengineer Foundation. Companies and organizations are invited to welcome girls and non-binary people (13-19 years of age) to show them what it's like to work as an engineer. The goal is based on the belief that gender equality within the engineering profession, will benefit Swedish growth and welfare.In 2021, 1,273 girls from 281 schools attended IGEday all across Sweden, with the following impact:- 65% of all girls that attended IGEday became more interested in engineering- 91% of all girls that attended IGEday would like to attend again next yearSince 2015, IGEday has filled more than 8,000 seats with tech-curious girls.

As co-founder and current CEO of the Womengineer Foundation, my operational responsibilities involve leading 15 volunteers, arranging our annual events, and managing daily financials. On a long-term level, it also includes leading the strategic work of the foundation. One of these events is the Introduce a Girl to Engineering day, IGEday. On this day, hundreds of companies from the engineering industry partner with us by inviting girls throughout Sweden to their workplaces so they can experience what it is like to work as an engineer. In 2021, we also arranged our first digital recruitment event called 'Womengineer Day'. On this event, 70 newly graduated female engineers were invited to get to know 11 tech companies. Womengineer is committed to UN Sustainable Development Goals #4, 5, and 10. Our vision is that by 2030, 50% of all engineers who graduate in Sweden are women. We do all of this with the objective to provide opportunities to the next generation of engineers so they can fulfill their potential. The goal is based on the belief that gender equality within the engineering profession, will benefit Swedish growth and welfare.

Womengineer is a non-profit foundation, which aims to inspire more women to pursue an education in engineering. It was founded in 2008 by Emelie Emanuelsson and myself at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. The long-term goal is to reach gender equality among recently graduated engineers in Sweden by 2030.

The role included not only ownership of the aftermarket products as such, but also the accountability of all ongoing projects (as Steering Committee chairman) and responsibility of the long-term strategy to define the future product portfolio. I had three reporting team members – a Project Manager in Stockholm and a Project Manager as well as a Product Manager in Shanghai. I was also a member of the CabinAir leadership team.

Taking on the role of Product Manager included full ownership of the aftermarket products, responsibility of the long-term strategy to define the future product portfolio and continous management of the products' respective business cases.

As Project Manager for a product development project of the first automotive aftermarket product of the company, I was responsible for initiating, driving, and completing the concept study followed by the product development into the market launch and running production mode based in China.

In this role as Project Manager, I managed product development projects within the business unit Dish Care and several projects for the Global Product Process team. This included leading a global team of project members who collectively represented all functional areas of traditional product development. I also got deeply involved in Electrolux’s product development processes as well as lead the development and training of specific processes for ~500 Electrolux colleagues.

I worked as an internal management consultant in a global unit supporting the entire Volvo Group called Business Transformation Services, BTS. The role involved problem-solving for many of the group’s top executives and in my case focusing on business development and project- and process management within sustainability, sales, and strategy. In particular, I lead the development of a group-wide CSR program which passed a formal decision in the executive board. For periods, I worked from the offices in Shanghai, Lyon, Greensboro, and other sites.

As one of 22 trainees in the Volvo Group International Graduate Program 2011/12, I was onboarded to the company through job rotations, global training sessions in Brazil, Sweden, and China with fellow trainees, and a 6-month assignment based at the BTS office in Shanghai.
