Company Overview: Co-Manufacturer and Co-Packer of nutraceuticals and health supplements, food and drink products.*Reporting to the CEO, this position entails working alongside the CEO and COO to manage two operational companies with revenues in the $100M to $300M range.Responsibilities:*Provide leadership and coordination in business planning, accounting, and budgeting efforts.*Develop and implement strategic financial plans to support company growth and achieve long-term objectives.*Direct and oversee all aspects of the accounting, financial planning, budgeting & reporting, KPI management, human resources, information technology, treasury risk management, audit, governance, and tax areas.*Work with the banks and lenders to manage cash needs, relationships, and ensure compliance with all debt or equity covenants & reporting needs.*Ensure timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends, performance indicators and forecasts.*Develop pricing model to ensure higher profit for sales team quotations.*Analyze operational issues and implemented corrective action to maximize profits.Accomplishments:*Converted financials from cash basis to accrual basis within 2 months of hire.*Set up internal controls and policies and procedures for the Accounting, HR and IT functions.*Prepared inaugural budget for 2024.*Developed the financial reporting package and worked closely with the private equity team to make sure that it met monthly reporting needs.*Hired national auditing company to do the first audit of both the 2022 stub period and 2023. The audit was successful, and received an ‘unqualified’ opinion.*Successfully implemented NetSuite ERP system in May 2024. Accomplishments:*Daily collaboration with the CEO and COO in running the company. Provide strategic advice to achieve aggressive future growth plans.*Was Key Finance professional responsible for due diligence, valuation, risk assessment, etc in the successful completion of a Private Equity M&A transaction. Also completed same for a strategic buyer in another M&A transaction. *Expertise with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and able to review financial statements and ascertain accuracy and value.*Set up immediate internal controls in regards to Cash, AR, AP, Purchasing and Payroll. Train accounting staff and begin documentation of all processes. Internal Controls were audited by Eide Bailly and found to be strong and in compliance with GAAP.*Created and prepared executive financial reporting package on a monthly basis with ad-hoc reports and analysis. Provide financial and costing expertise to successfully achieve goals.*Review current insurance policies of Premier Plastics. Requested bids, attended meetings, analyzed results and made recommendations to ensure Premier had proper coverage.*Played a key role in obtaining equipment financing to fund new growth. *Assisted in applying and obtaining funding through the Payroll Protection Program (PPP) loan. The loan was 100% forgiven.*Successfully completed four annual audits (2017-2018), (2019, (2020) and (2021,) working with the external audit company Tanner, LLC. and received unqualified opinions in all years.

In 2016, the company underwent a move of operations from a 175K square ft. to a 440K square ft. state of the art warehouse facility.*Responsible for all activities required to prepare the Accounting department for a M&A transaction including their first audit by an outside CPA firm.*Was succesful in managing the Accounting dept and setting up stong internal controls. Had 3 succesful reviews by Eide Bailley. Assisted the company in obtaining outside funding to support growth.

Controller of a $150M global IT initiative at Honeywell International.Provide financial leadership in budgeting, forecasting, scheduling and change management while working in close collaboration with professionals in operations, business units, procurement, accounting, accounts payable, engineering and project management. Manage financial reporting and analysis of several cost centers. Vet monthly close accruals and entries, fixed assets capitalization, budgeting, and forecasting.

Controller for the Active Adult DivisionManage financials and the budget of a $55M division. Directly responsible for the accounting department's budget. Hire, develop and manage a team of three staff accountants and two senior accountants. Manage monthly general ledger closing and account reconciliations. Prepare monthly financial statements (Income Statement and Balance Sheet,) along with monthly financial reports and present to senior management on a monthly offsite financial review. Prepare and deliver the division’s annual budget/plan and quarterly forecasts. Work directly with internal and external audit.

Assistant Controller-Central DivisionManage the closing team (one staff and two senior accountants) to close around 125 homes per month. Review budgets, sales agreements, and settlement documents on closed homes from prepared entries. Produce gross profit reports. Control costs by analyzing budgets and actuals, establishing procedures and implementing corrective action as required. Establish/document accounting procedures and methods for budgeting, closing and cost allocations. Schedule and organize the monthly close process. Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, account summaries and reports. Prepare, review and approve journal entries, allocations, and accruals. Perform analysis and prepare schedules for financial package support, the tax department, auditors and management. Prepare monthly financial forecasts, project proformas, annual plans and other financial projections.

Responsible for planning, implementing and delivery of annual Forecast and Budget of $15M. Effectively managed and performed annual standard cost update at year end. Managed A/P, A/R (including daily cash flow) and Payroll functions. Ensure accuracy of standard costs by performing Bill of Material reviews and reviewing all elements of standard cost: including material prices/quantities, scrap factors, labor hours/rates and fixed/variable overheads. Performed profitability analysis and estimation of standard costs. Set-up and updated items in Oracle. Performed roll up and update of standard costs. Performed other financial analysis such as manufacturing variances and P/L analysis.Functioned as representative of Finance in weekly cross-functional high impact teams. Lead initiative on special projects, including Sarbanes Oxley-Section 404 Internal Controls, among others.
