I've worked in Scottish media for nearly 30 years as a writer and editorial executive. I've been a staffer and a freelancer and have a packed contact book as well as a nose for news and understanding of what grabs a newsdesk's attention.In my spare time I am a commited animal welfare supporter and have spent time at the helm of one Scottish charity while providing professional and personal support to others.I have submitted published evidence to Government committees reviewing aspects of animal welfare legislation and supported fundraising and awareness campaigns.In 2013 I helped launch the Mirror Animal Heroes Awards as the sole researcher brought in to promote the search for nominees, identify potential winners, prepare briefs for the judging panel and support them during their deliberations.
