he role was to advise the leadership, officials and members on macroeconomic policy, labour market and economic regulatory issues, contribute to strategic planning on economic and political affairs and represent the position of the union in public and on domestic and EU affiliated organisations. Responsibilities also included •Financial auditing of companies -the role involved engagement with finance directors and other senior managers in domestic and multinational companies plus review of their unpublished accounts to assess the financial position prior to negotiation on restructuring and cost savings initiatives.•Collaboration with colleagues in the Legal and Industrial divisions of the organisation in economic and regulatory matters.• Alliance building among with other representative groups from across the policy spectrum to identify common ground and to jointly campaign on particular issues.

Responsibility for project managing all aspects of manifesto development principally; content research and production, political coordination across Ministers, elected representatives, staff and members of the party, outreach to interest groups, financial costing and input into formulation of key electoral messaging.
